Why is layers 3D model so stringing?

Layered 3D models (e.g., FDM prints) get stringing because molten material oozes from the nozzle when moving between non-adjacent print areas. This happens when the nozzle retains molten plastic during layer/part transitions—insufficient retraction (pulling filament back) or too-high nozzle temperature causes drips that form thin, unwanted strings. To reduce stringing, try lowering the nozzle temperature by 5–10°C or increasing retraction distance by 1–2mm in your slicer—simple adjustments that work for most FDM users.
