Displacement 3D models in material design are often pixelated because the displacement map used has low resolution. Displacement maps rely on grayscale pixel values to adjust model geometry—lower resolution means fewer detail points, so close-ups or scaled views show blocky, pixelated edges instead of smooth surfaces. To fix this, increase the displacement map’s resolution to match the model’s intended size or view distance, or use a subdivision modifier to add geometry that better captures map details without needing an overly large file.
